What is LIR Sponsoring?

As a RIPE NCC member (Local Internet Registry), Innovation Harbor B.V. can sponsor your organization for Provider Independent (PI) resources. This allows you to own and control your own IP addresses and AS numbers, which you can use anywhere in the world with any provider.

RIPE Requirements for Independent Resources

To qualify for PI resources, you must meet RIPE NCC requirements:

ASN Requirements

  • Your organization must be a legal entity in the RIPE NCC service region (Europe, Middle East, Central Asia)
  • You must have at least two different upstream providers with AS numbers
  • Upstream providers must be in the RIPE NCC service region
  • You must demonstrate a need for an ASN (multi-homing, BGP routing, etc.)
  • Valid company registration documents (not older than 3 months)
  • Contact information for RIPE NCC communications

IPv6 PI Requirements

  • Your organization must be a legal entity in the RIPE NCC service region
  • You must demonstrate a need for Provider Independent addressing
  • You must have a network plan showing how you will use the IPv6 space
  • You must have at least one upstream provider
  • Valid company registration documents
  • Contact information for RIPE NCC communications

Resource Sponsoring Requirements

  • Existing PI or Legacy resources that need sponsoring
  • Valid company registration documents
  • Proof of resource ownership

RPKI (Resource Public Key Infrastructure)
