Short answer: since Bedrock 26.60 (27 October 2026), Bedrock players connect in a new way, and if your Geyser still runs the old way, they can't get in any more. At PlanetNode we've taken care of it: every Minecraft and proxy server now has its own Bedrock port, existing servers included, at no extra cost. Update Geyser, restart, and Bedrock players can get in again. Here's how it fits together.
What changed
For years, Bedrock players connected over RakNet, a UDP-only protocol. Mojang is replacing it with NetherNet, which connects in two steps:
- Signaling over TCP. The client first asks, through a web request, how to connect to the server. The server list (name and player count) also goes through this step.
- Gameplay over UDP. The game itself then runs over WebRTC.
The rollout started with Bedrock 26.40. Since 26.60, RakNet is gone for Bedrock clients. Geyser supports NetherNet from build 1237. A server that still offers Geyser over RakNet is unreachable for Bedrock players.
What you need to do
Every Minecraft and proxy server at PlanetNode has its own Bedrock port, next to the Java port. New servers get it when they're created, and all existing servers have been given one as well, for free. The port is open for TCP and UDP, and your server already starts Geyser with the right settings. There's nothing to change in the Geyser config.
- Put the latest Geyser on your server: the plugin in the
pluginsfolder (on Fabric, the mod in themodsfolder). If you already had Geyser, update it; NetherNet is in there from build 1237. - If you want Bedrock players without a Java account to join, add Floodgate too.
- Restart your server.
Bedrock players connect using your server's IP address and the Bedrock port. Both are in the client portal, next to your server in the Bedrock-spelers (Geyser) block.
You don't need to add an extra port in the panel yourself, and doing so wouldn't be enough anyway: Geyser has to know which port to use, and it's already set to the Bedrock port.
Note: the free subdomain (such as on pnjoin.nl, gamename.eu or joinmc.xyz) only works for Java players. It's an SRV record, and Bedrock doesn't use SRV records. So Bedrock players always enter the IP address and the Bedrock port.
About the prompt on first connect
By default, Geyser handles signaling over plain HTTP. So anyone connecting through an IP address gets a "Trust on First Use" prompt the first time, which they have to accept. After that, it doesn't come back.
What your players need to do
If Geyser used to share your Java server's port, the port number changes. Players who saved your server in their list update the address and port there: the IP address and the Bedrock port from the client portal.
Need help?
If Bedrock players still can't get in, contact our support and include the output of /geyser dump. That shows us at once how Geyser is set up on your server.
Geyser's own full explanation is in the GeyserMC setup guide.
