Transfers
Moving a domain to us
Your website and email keep working during the transfer. The timings below come from the registries themselves, not from a promise of ours.

You need a code from your current provider
It is usually called an auth or EPP code; for a .nl domain it is called a transfer token. Your current provider must supply it on request and may not withhold it over an unpaid invoice.
For .com, .net, .org and most others it takes up to five days
If your old provider does not respond within those five days, the transfer goes through automatically. That is not our goodwill — it is what the ICANN transfer policy says.
For .nl and .be it is immediate
Once the code checks out the transfer is done, with no waiting period. For .be, DNS Belgium sends the code straight to the domain holder, so you are in control yourself.
Just after registration a transfer may be refused
For most extensions your old provider is allowed to block a transfer during the first sixty days after registration, or after an earlier transfer. That is permitted, so bear it in mind if you have only just registered.
