AMD EPYC is AMD's server line: more cores and memory channels per socket than a desktop processor, ECC memory and plenty of PCIe lanes for NVMe drives and network cards. That makes EPYC the natural choice when your workload consists of many concurrent tasks: virtual machines, containers, databases or build servers.

We deliver EPYC servers as bare metal. The whole machine is yours, with no hypervisor of ours in between. You get IPMI access and install whatever you want, from Proxmox to Windows Server.

Frequently asked questions about EPYC servers

Anything that can be spread across many cores: virtualisation with Proxmox or VMware, container clusters, databases with many concurrent connections, build servers and CI. If you mainly need speed per core, for a game server for instance, look at our high-frequency servers.

Yes. You have IPMI access and can load your own ISO, so Proxmox VE, VMware ESXi or Windows Server with Hyper-V all work. Own IP space for your VMs is routed via BGP.

Ryzen is AMD's desktop line: fewer cores but higher clock speeds per core. EPYC is the server line: more cores, more memory channels, more PCIe lanes and ECC support. Pick EPYC for parallel workloads and Ryzen for anything that leans on one fast thread.
