Who it is for
Who chooses a .gg?
A .gg is chosen mainly in gaming: an esports team, a Minecraft or Hytale community with its own server, a streamer who wants one fixed address for the schedule and the Discord link, a tournament organiser. In that world the extension reads as "good game", the sign-off after a match, rather than as the country code of Guernsey that it officially is.
There are no registration conditions. Outside gaming the benefit is small: a business with no link to games has to explain the extension every time, and a .com is easier to recognise.
