Who it is for
Who chooses a .online?
A .online is a general-purpose extension for anyone who finds the name they want already taken under .com: a sole trader who wants to keep their own name, a club, an online course or a project that is not tied to any country. The extension says little about the content, and that is exactly why it suits almost any kind of site.
There are no registration conditions. If you serve customers in one country, that country's own extension usually remains the first choice; .online is a good alternative when that name is gone.
