Explainer Web hosting

Can I run Node.js, Python or websockets on webhosting?

Our webhosting is built for PHP websites. Node.js isn't officially supported, Python isn't offered, and for websockets we recommend a VPS.

Not officially. Our webhosting is built for PHP websites such as WordPress. For Node.js, Python, websockets and other apps that run continuously, we recommend a VPS.

Node.js

In DirectAdmin you may see the Node.js Selector. It's visible, but we don't officially support it. If your app doesn't work well with it, we can't help you with that.

Python

We don't offer Python on webhosting.

Websockets and apps that run continuously

A websocket server, a bot or another app that always has to be on doesn't fit on webhosting. For that we recommend a VPS. There you have your own resources and you decide which software runs.
