Minecraft 26.1 Update Patch Notes
Tiny Takeover is the first game drop of 2026 and the cutest update in Minecraft history. It also introduces Mojang's brand-new versioning system: year.drop.hotfix.
Here are the most important changes listed:
Golden Dandelion
A new craftable flower that permanently pauses a baby mob's aging. Feed it to your favourite baby animal to keep it small forever - feed it another one to let it grow up again.
Craftable Name Tags
Name tags can finally be crafted with just paper and any nugget. No more endless searching through dungeon chests or trading with librarians to name your pets.
Trumpet Note Block
Place a copper block under a note block for a brand-new trumpet sound. The sound even changes based on the oxidation level of the copper block.
Stonecutter Update
The stonecutter can now convert stone and deepslate directly into their cobblestone variants, making mass block conversion much easier for builders.
New Versioning System
Minecraft now uses a year.drop.hotfix version format, and 26.1 is the first release to use it. This marks the switch to smaller, more frequent quarterly game drops.
