How it works

A modded server in four steps

    Pick your plan

    Take 6 GB for a small pack with a few friends, 8 GB for a large pack or more players.

  2. 02

    Server delivered

    Right after payment your server appears in the panel, with a free subdomain if you want one.

  3. 03

    Open the modpack installer

    Choose your pack and version. The installer sets up the server files and the loader for you.

  4. 04

    Share your address

    Your friends install the same pack in their launcher and join on your address.

Which loader?

Forge, NeoForge, Fabric or Paper?

Mods and plugins are two different worlds. The pack you want to play decides which one you need; the server follows.

Forge and NeoForge

The oldest and largest mod loader. Many classic and large packs are built on Forge; on newer versions NeoForge takes over that role. A Forge pack wants a Forge server: players need the same mods as the server.

Fabric

Lighter and quicker to follow new Minecraft versions. Popular for performance mods and smaller packs. Again, server and players run the same loader and the same mods.

Paper and plugins

Plugins run on the server only; players install nothing. That is the world of SMP servers and minigames. Plugins do not work on a Forge or Fabric server, so do not mix them with a modpack.

Your players use the launcher that goes with the pack, such as CurseForge, Modrinth, ATLauncher, Technic or Feed The Beast; the pack's page tells you which. For the server, the launcher makes no difference.

Count on 6 GB for a small modpack on a modern version and 8 GB or more for a hundred and fifty mods or more. The modpack usually states a minimum; treat it as a floor, not a target. Our RAM guide lists it per player count.

You install most modpacks yourself in a few clicks from the panel. If your pack is not listed, upload it over SFTP or ask support for help.

Yes. You choose the loader and the Minecraft version yourself, per server. Paper plugins do not work on a Forge or Fabric server; if you want plugins, pick a Paper server.

Yes. Upload your world and mods over SFTP and start the server on the same pack version the world was made on. If the version differs, take a backup first.

Yes. You move to a bigger plan and your world and settings come along. If you outgrow 8 GB, we will look at a premium plan or another solution together.
