Our own network, direct peering

AS211588 is the network of Innovation Harbor B.V., the parent company of PlanetNode. We peer at Frys-IX, ERA-IX Amsterdam, NL-ix and Speed-IX in the Netherlands, at 1-IX EU in Poland and at nine in France. The current state is on bgp.tools.

Dutch and European law

Your data stays in the Netherlands and falls under Dutch and EU law. We are a Dutch company with Dutch support, and you have one party for network, hardware and help.

Amsterdam, Ede or Naaldwijk: what is the difference?

Less than you might think. The three sites hang off the same network, run the same hardware and cost the same. Traffic from all three leaves through the core in Amsterdam.

People searching for "VPS in Amsterdam" usually want two things: a short path to Dutch visitors and a provider that controls its own network. Neither depends on the rack the machine sits in; both depend on the network behind it. Our compute in Ede and Naaldwijk sits on the same AS211588 as the compute in Amsterdam and reaches the internet through the same core and the same peering. That is why we place on capacity rather than on postcode, and why we say plainly that we do not guarantee which of the three cities your VPS ends up in.

Traffic: fair use, no small print

We do not sell an allowance that runs out or a promise that gets throttled later. Traffic falls under fair use, measured at the 95th percentile: we measure continuously, drop the top five percent of samples and look at what remains. A peak costs you nothing; only structurally high usage counts, and then we agree on what to do.

The current state is on bgp.tools. A colocation customer in Naaldwijk can have their own AMS-IX connection installed; that is a cross connect for that customer, not peering on our part.

Same network, same hardware, same price. Traffic from all three sites leaves through the core in Amsterdam. For the path to your visitors it therefore makes no difference which of the three cities the machine is in.
