Windows Server needs more memory than a Linux server. That is why we show the three largest plans here and deliberately leave out the smaller sizes for Windows.

What for

When you need a Windows VPS

Usually because the software requires it. These are the situations we deliver Windows VPS plans for.

Remote Desktop workstation

A Windows desktop that is always on and reachable from any device over RDP. For a trading application, a tool that may not run on your laptop, or simply a fixed workstation in the cloud.

.NET and IIS

A web application on ASP.NET that has to run on IIS, or a Windows service that runs alongside your website. That does not fit on a Linux VPS; on a Windows VPS it does.

SQL Server

A Microsoft SQL Server database for an application that cannot do without it. With NVMe storage and ECC memory on the same hardware as our Linux VPS plans.

Accounting and industry software

A lot of administration, planning and industry software is Windows-only. A Windows VPS gives that software a fixed home, away from your team's workstations.

From request to working server

A Windows VPS is not a one-click order; we deliver it as a custom service. This is how that goes.

    Intake

    You fill in the form and tell us what the server is for and how much memory and storage you expect to need. We come back with a proposal for the plan and the licence.

  2. 2

    Installation and delivery

    We prepare the VPS, install Windows Server and set up Remote Desktop. You receive the credentials and have Administrator access from that moment on.

  3. 3

    Support in Dutch and English

    You manage the server yourself, but you are not on your own. For questions about the VPS, the network or the licence you talk to the same people who set it up.

Why custom

Why a Windows VPS has no order button

A Linux VPS you order online: the operating system is free and the plan sets the price. With Windows Server a licence comes on top, and it depends on the plan and on how you use the server. A fixed price on this page would be too high for one customer and too low for another, so we work it out per request and put it in writing in the quote before you pay anything.

On top of that, Windows Server asks more of a VPS than Linux does. During the intake we check together whether the memory and storage of the chosen plan fit your software, so you do not have to upgrade after a month anyway. That costs a message back and forth, but saves you a wrong start.

Yes, as a custom service. We install Windows Server for you on one of our Ryzen 9 VPS plans and provide the support. You request it through the form; we then get in touch.

The VPS itself costs the same as the plan of the same name on the VPS page. The Windows Server licence comes on top and is quoted per request, depending on the plan and your usage.

We match that to the software you want to run during the intake. We do not fix a version here, because the offering changes and the right choice depends on your application.

Yes. You get Administrator access over Remote Desktop and manage the server yourself, unless you take a managed variant.

By default you manage it yourself: updates, backups and the software on it. If you would rather hand that over, look at our managed servers or mention it in the intake.

In the Netherlands, on our own network AS211588 with sites in Amsterdam, Ede and Naaldwijk. Your data falls under Dutch and EU law.
