How do I put my own world on my Minecraft server?

You put your own world on your Minecraft server by uploading the world folder to the server's main folder. To use it as the main world, you replace the world folder. To add it next to your current world, you use the Multiverse-Core plugin.

What you need

• Your world folder. In singleplayer it is in Minecraft's saves folder. On Windows that is %appdata%\.minecraft\saves.
• A world from the same or an older Minecraft version than your server. A world from a newer version will not load.
• An SFTP client. A world consists of many files; SFTP is the easiest way.

Replace the main world

1. Stop your server in the game panel with Stop.
2. Connect with SFTP.
3. Delete the folders world, world_nether and world_the_end.
4. Upload your world folder to the main folder and name it world. Make sure level.dat is directly inside world, not in a subfolder.
5. Start your server with Start.

Add an extra world with Multiverse-Core

This works on Paper, Purpur and Spigot.

1. Install Multiverse-Core. See How do I install a plugin on my Minecraft server?
2. Upload your world folder via SFTP to your server's main folder, next to world.
3. Start your server and type in the console:

mv import <foldername> normal

Use nether or end instead of normal for a Nether or End world.

4. In Minecraft, go to the world with /mvtp <foldername>.

Join your server. You are in your uploaded world, or you can go there with /mvtp.
